We went with Nicks family to see the lights at Temple Square and took a few pictures in the freezing cold. We have never taken Zoey out in the cold for that long and that cold, so I made sure she was nice and toasty. Still no matter my efforts Zoey still got a cold and a barky cough and is now on quarantine in hopes she won't still be sick for Christmas. All in all, the light pretty, it was beautiful to see the manger scene and we even ran in to the Regehers and my best friends older sister Kristen and her cute family.

We hosted Thanks Giving at home this year with both Families and it was so GREAT!!! My favorite Thanksgiving by far...plus can you see all my home made decor I made to put on the table and around? I had fun :)

Gardner Village

I know it has been so long since we have updated, and I can't do all of the pictures over the months we missed (too many!). We had a wonderful holiday with our families and were thrilled to have Nicks Dad in town from Washington.

Zoey is growing so fast! She kills me what she can do at 19 months, I am almost positive she knows at least 45-50 signs in ASL and speaks her mind every chance she gets. She is already learning colors (I have no idea how, since I have not really focused her learning on colors or counting, but she already knows a few!) But other than Zoey that is all that is new with us.... oh did I mention we are having a baby at the end of May?

This is our announcement, I am currently 15 1/2 weeks and I am due May 27, we already know the sex of the baby, it is the first picture...can you guess what it is?

I know I am way to big, but for a while Zoey didn't want to go by her self

Last month my family was over and I was so excited to see my siblings and all of my nieces and nephew and that they could play with Zoey. Well it was so hot, it didn't even occur to me that the kids would even want to go outside since we have no shade in our yard. Though they all some how ended up either on the slide or playing in the lovely green sand my parents got Zoey. I was so surprised. I am not sure why, kids love sand, dirt, mud; parents don't. Zoey wanted so badly to go out with the big girls and play with them. They were awesome with her too. The girls were building all sorts of things, when Zoey would come and knock it down, dump it out or step on it. They just kept building and let her play to. (What great Cousins!) Since that day with all the cousins Zoey loves her green sand. We have caught it a couple times around her mouth (yikes) she has so much fun with and (most of the time) enjoys playing with her sand more than the garden dirt. The best is when we come in before nap time wash our hands and a snack and go down, when I come back by the door I see little patches of green sand every where. At least it is easy to spot and that makes it easy to clean.

Big Girl

Zoey is such a big girl now, she can climb up the ladder and go down the slide in our back yard! Any time she hears the word "outside" she runs to the back door and stairs out through the glass at her fun large playground that she seems to never be board of! She has been doing this for almost a month now and it is so funny to watch her. When she gets to the top of the slide she waits for you to watch her and then goes down with not only a enormous smile but shouts "weeeeeee" to the bottom and repeats the process.

In this Particular Week with Coupons and watching deals I saved 16.59!

I go to Wal-mart with my deals from other stores and price match. I only use coupons when something is on sale and get the item for 30-60% off! In the month of July I saved $57.00

In the first week of August I have already Saved $23.00.

Nick and I used to laugh at this method because we knew how cheap Costco can be, but we found some tips and now we are sold. I love to see how much money I can save each week.

Each week varies from week to week. The worst savings I have had in one week was 6.95 and the most I have saved in one week is 23.00. Like most Families we are on a tight budget with trying to stay completely out of debt and also pay bills while raising a family. Because of that we only give ourselves 70.00 a week for food or cleaning supplies. That may seem like a lot, but after you get a few items there isn't a lot left over for toiletries or unexpected week to week items.

I can buy 7 nights worth of diners, plus all of my cleaning supplies, lunch food, snacks when we got out on weekends and still have extra to buy Popsicles for a hot day. I was NEVER able to buy as much as I can now, in fact I even get a few items for free!

There are a few people I have talked who also agree in price matching but don't care as much for the coupons, that they are not things they would but often for there family. That's what I said only because I thought even with a small deal I couldn't afford it. I am sorry to say but that is not true. I have seen coupons for everything from condoms/KY jelly to potato chips and pens. This week I got 4 10 pks of BIC pens for Free with a deal and coupons. Everyone uses pens. Or if you are still not convinced, I get two papers so I had two coupons for a $1 off tide, the first week of August the 2x 50 oz tide was on sale for 4.99 (reg. 7.57) I used my dollar off coupons and of each tide for 3.99! That is a great deal!

Every one has there own way of cutting back and trying to save money for their family. Along with a few others tips this is one I have found to help us on a very large scale.

Cloth Diapers and Cloth Wipes

Over a month ago I decided we needed to switch to cloth diapers.

I initially wanted to make the switch because we only spend 70.00 each week at the grocery store, and when you buy diapers you take a HUGE cut over other items.

I spend 84.00 to get my supplies and started, and all of the supplies will last from 8-36 with all of our kids! I did the math and in the one year bought diapers for Zoey we spent over $420.00 on diapers and wipes. $84 vs $420 seems like a no brainer to me to switch, but I understand when others say they can't wash all of those messy diapers. Yes, it can be hard if you do it the cheapest way like I do (soak, soak, and more soaking followed by minor scrubbing) but I have to admit now that we are fully switched I don't care how bad her diaper is I know I am saving Hundreds by just washing it my self. I figure Zoey has spit up, thrown up, pooped, peed on me so many times I might as well clean all of it up and save my family tons of money.

I am not trying to suede any one to cloth diapers but tell that they are not as bad as they were once (cloth diapers have changed and come along way since your mom used them).

I took the prices down at Costco (typically the cheapest for quality in bulk) and this the tally..

On the 4th of July we planted new flowers in the corner of our yard with the help of Nicks Mom

I love being a stay at home Mom where I can be with my daughter, teach, care for and play wit her her. This is the best job I have have ever had. I have never cried so hard, been so stressed I didn't know what to do, been so exhausted I could take a nap any where, felt like my life is the very best and blessed to have every second of it, been as happy as I am with everything that happens in our crazy life's. Being a Mom is a gift from my Father in Heaven. I am so blessed to have have such an angel as my daughter and remind of what is right and wrong and to have such a marvelous husband who is caring and loving and I know I can always count on. My life is rich with blessing all around me and I thank my Heavenly Father every day for blessing me with an eternal family, and for all we have and cherish.

I was trying to show her how to poke it and play with it, she thought it was weird then food. After she tasted our home made non-toxic play dough she didn't want to play with any more

Zoey and I made home made play-dough.

I have been wanting to do this for a while but just put it off until I came across an awesome recipe. Super easy and most of the ingredients were already in my pantry.

Since Zoey LOVES to help me cook and be with me in the kitchen I thought "why not", we will get very messy and have a great time. Still I have to plan a little for my sanity.

We started in the morning before nap time so I would have plenty of time to clean up the mess before the rest of the day got started. Also I knew Zoey enjoyed helping but I also wasn't sure how much she could o. But I have just head this fantastic story about how you should always make time to let kids help in the kitchen and let them get messy (hence the Why not thought) and how important it is to start very early. So with that in mind I gave her a spoon and went from there. She helped stir...it was messy (so very messy) but Zoey had a blast, flour was every where! I had to even had extra flour because she had stirred so much out of the bowl. Eventually I gave her a small plastic mixing bowl with flour and a spoon and let her have at it! As you can see in the pictures it was a huge success, we will be making play-dough again soon I am sure.

This is my favorite! Doesn't this just melt your heart! Just happen to catch that on camera as they were sitting watching t.v./movie together.

Nick and Zoey have this wonderful connection with one another. When Nick is playing a video game she will crawl under his arms, sit in his lap and try to grab the controller and play with him. It is the funniest thing to watch. She can say Daddy so much better than she can say Mommy, and give Daddy these big hugs and kisses each night before bed time.

Since Zoey and I are home all day with each other we have our way special connection of laughing, peek-a-boo, hide and go seek, painting toe nails, picking out clothes and the occasional "Mommy said No tantrums". But when Nick is home it is so fun for me to see what a cute Dad he is to her and how much fun the two of them have together.

We have been taking Zoey to the Utah Hogle Zoo since she was 5 weeks old and we continue to go with her now. We pack a lunch and make a day of it, to see the animals and being able to do something different than our daily routine.

So before Nick Woke up Zoey and I went down stairs quietly (haha) and hung a fathers day sign and laid out his gifts including a homemade gift and card we put together. When he came down the stairs we shouted Surprise and Happy Fathers day. It was such a fun day. I don't know what I would do with out Nick. He helps out so much, cooking cleaning, finnaces, ect. I know I can always count on Nick to help me with Zoey our around the house if it was one of those days. He has always been there for me and I am so grateful for the wonderful husband and best friend that he really is. Happy Fathers day!

This picture is so funny! She just got in trouble and is very upset with me.
On the coffee table we have a black dish that hold remotes and she loves to grab in when she thinks I am not looking. But when I am looking she will just go and stand next to the table and just stare at me, she will wait a moment, then put her hand on the table, the another moment move the hand closer, then as fast as she can she will try to grab the dish while I am looking before she gets in trouble again. That just happened in this picture and she is mad at me for not turning around. She makes me laugh so hard. She is not shy, She will talk to everyone, and she will try to do whatever is on her mind

Zoey doesn't like the Mixer unless you hold her, and in this picture she didn't want me to hold her, she wanted to sit next to it and add flour... she copies every thing I do. I love her.

We took Zoey camping for the first successful time over the weekend. (Successful meaning we made it to our destination and actually camped all night.) She had so much fun with all her cousins. She is the youngest kid and all the big kids wanted to give her food. So when the cousins (or aunts, uncles and Grandparents) didn't think I was looking she would get Cheetos, hot dogs, marsh mellows, chocolate and all sorts of goodies that we don't give her at home. She had so much fun. Also her bed time is 7:00 and when we went camping she stayed up till 10:30 pm playing and sitting by the warm fire. When it came to sleeping she did fantastic! I made her a homemade sleeping bag from old baby quilts for her to sleep in and keep her warm. ( I will post pictures of that later.) Overall a fun trip and now that we know it can be done with a done 1 year old we plan to go camping again down in southern Utah.

I had every thing organized and packed very neatly and ready for days before we left. ( I was just very proud of that moment and had to share)

Sick Zoey

When she was feeling better our neighborhood had a pool party where I was able to get her to happily eat an Oreo.

She had no energy. We just say on the couch with our sick bowl and blankets watching Barney and Sesame Street all day long. I took this photo before she really started throwing up. After I took this she got even more sick , she was so miserable. When Daddy came home he brought a huge gallon of blue Gatorade home and put it in her sippy cup. It was the only thing she had for 2 days. But as you saw in the first picture shortly after that she bounced back very well. One week later I was sick with the same thing and Nick had to stay home from work to take care of Zoey and I. I love my family, we have so many funny memories.

(This was before Zoey got sick) We did our first 5k together! She did awesome and I had so much fun participating in a local 5k

Overdue Catchup

A lot has happened since our last post. For starters we moved into our first home (which we love), Nick had a birthday, I had a birthday, Zoey turned 1, Easter, Mothers day, We let Zoey color for the first time, We have had play dates and had more recent trips to to Zoo, just for starters. :) I just felt like I haven't had the time or desire to upload and blog about our recent events, but somehow today I am finally sitting down and taking the time. My pictures are out of order, so I did try to label most of them.

We did move in February into our first home, which did come across as a surprise to many of you since we swore we were not going to buy a home for at least another 4-5 years. Funny how things change. We got curious at what we could afford, and we found this beautiful home that fits all of our needs. We are really happy here and we hope to stay here for a long, long time.

Thank you to all of you who have come and visited and helped us during our moving process. We love you so much!

Another big event in our home was Zoeys' 1'st Birthday. We had a pink Dino party, to go along with Zoey's LOVE for Barney. (I just couldn't do a Barney party, so we made it pink and cute with pink Dino's everywhere. Zoey was absolutely spoiled by all our family who showered her with gifts and toys (which she adores each and every one of them). With Easter being the next day we did a Dino egg hunt in the back yard as her game. She had so much fun with all her cousins to play with at her house! Thank you every one for making it such a special day. :)

I have always wanted to make homemade baby food but I just never knew where to start and from that never took the initiative.

This Christmas my cute Mother-in-law got me a Beba Baby food maker. So I did kind of cheat, but I am making tons of cheap and healthy baby food!

It is so much fun to make and I know it is healthier for Zoey, plus cheaper for Mom and dad. Now let me start off by saying I know tons of people who buy store bought food, including us for the past 4 months, and there is nothing wrong with that. But I have to admit how surprised Nick and I were to discover how much money you save buy making it your self. Also It really is healthier.

I kept hearing that phrase over and over but all anyone could ever say why was "it's fresh, made from your kitchen". As that is very important to me, I was looking for something else. I was reading some cook books for baby food when when I came across numerous books that said the same thing. This was what I wanted to hear, Store bought food has to maintain shelf life for a long time, so it's not that they are adding tons of preservatives but that they cooking the food at higher temperatures which kills the nutrients!

Now the cheaper part will really surprise you. I don't normally buy frozen unless something is out season or I need exact measurements ext, ext. But I bought a 16 oz bag of frozen green beans at Wal-mart for .96 cents cooked and pureed them and that made four 4oz servings. If I were to buy the Gerber green beans in the jar that would cost me .56 cents each. That is a savings of $1.28 with out tax. Now imagine that for every meal for several months! It's amazing the savings with a little steam cooking and pureeing can do.

On Zoey's Menu this week:

Butternut Squash, Potatoes with Carrots and Turnips, Zucchini Squash, Zucchini Squash with Potatoes, Carrots, Apples and pears, Butternut Squash and Potatoes, Sweet Peas, Green Beans.

Whenever I get done making a huge batch of baby food and put it all in the freezer I love to randomly look in the freezer and see all the fun colors and look at the cute containers all of her food is in. Yesterday when Nick came home from work I had him enjoy one of these moments with me by looking at of the finished baby food. :) It was great!

Feeding our self

For a couple a months now at church people will say the phrase to Nick and I when we are holding Zoey in the hall " oh, in the phase where coming to church feels pointless". I didn't get what they meant because we usually were always in the hall for a reason or it really was just one of those hard days for Zoey. Today I understand. Going to Sacrament is OK, she will stay in her car seat and play or play near her car seat on the floor. But Sunday school is totally different. She has warmed up and active, but also tired because it is getting close to nap time but there is no way she is going to take a nap with all these nice people saying how cute she is and how funny she is. So after a few minutes of Zoey just wanting to explore on the front row and tyring to contain her by our feet, we decided to make a head for the door. After all of Sunday school passing and now that Nick and I have been released from our callings we just decided to leave and took a nice Sunday drive. We then came home and had lunch where I took these pictures of Zoey feeding herself, she had so much making a mess.

Today my cute Friend Allison and her daughter came over for a much needed (for the moms) play date. It is so fun because Allie and I were pregnant at the same time and now our little girls our 6 days apart! They are super cute together. We are always enjoy spending time with the Townsend's. Nick and I have put into action a new bedtime schedule that is (I must say) AMAZING! My little girl has been sleeping 2 out 6 nights from 7:30 pm to 8:00 am!!!! I feel so fresh and awake. Zoey used to be on this great schedule from about 5 weeks on but then we went on a trip and it has never been quite the same, close, sometimes very close but not the same. I just had to blog about this because this is our news and it deserves a post of it's own. Sweet Dreams :)

We had such a fun Holiday season! I am so excited for 2011 to already be here, there are so many things to look forward to. Zoey is growing up so fast and will soon be one years old. Here are some of her new things:

she can walk around the apt with her walk and stand scooter, still put everything in her mouth, say "Mama" when she is sad, has two bottom front teeth, can feed her self crackers, get into EVERYTHING, and I think she is so close to signing some new words. I think she understands a couple of different phrases in sign.

We love you all and hope you all had a terrific holiday and are just as excited as we are for this new and exciting new year!

I have finally posted! We would like to introduce our beautiful and lovely little girl Zoey Green! She has been an absolute blessing in our lives. We love her to pieces and everything she does is so entertaining to us. She came into this world with a pretty crazy entrance but is ever so healthy! I did have an emergency C-Section because her heart rate kept dropping so much. Because it was an emergency and there was no time for any thing I felt my c-section! (you have to admit, this makes a great story ;) lol) I just remember the doctor telling me everything step by step and then when they tried to get her out, my pain went up! I kept thinking in my mind that they were breaking all my ribs. Nick almost walked away with a broken hand and the doctor kept offering to put me under if wanted so I wound not feel the pain. It happened incredibly fast, from the time they made the decision to operate to the time she was born was a total of 12 minutes! I had to sign my release form after my surgery lol because there was no time before. But all in all we are both healthy and happy! She is a wonderful baby and we lover her so much.

Recently my cute neighbor did belly pictures for me as a gift! she is amazing!!!! These are just some of my favorites but she really did do a fantastic job. Also lately I had 2 baby showers on the same day, one in the morning that the Young Women in my ward threw. They surprised me and I thought we were meeting to work on their YW medallions. So because it was a surprise I didn't bring my camera, but that afternoon my sister and sister in law threw my family shower. It was a busy day. They did such a cute job with all the details and decorations. To every one who has helped us in some way, by shower, by donating or letting us borrow something, by gifts, by love and support, thank you! We love you and can't wait for Zoey to feel your love as we do.

On Saturday March 20 Nick turned 26! I was so excited for his birthday because I had been working so hard to really surprise him with unique gifts this year. Nick can be hard to shop for, and he also kept telling me how he really just wanted to stay home and not have anything planned, just have a nice relaxing day. So to stay true to his wishes I gave him a "movie and video game day". For His big present from me I wanted it to be really special since this will be his last birthday with out kids I wanted him to feel completely spoiled and all attention on him. I made him a Pillow chair to sit in so he could play his video games for hours and not sit on the floor.

That chair ended up being a real hassle! I was determined he would get a gaming chair from me because I knew if it was from me he would know what a sacrifice it was and it would mean more to him if I gave it. Well I had several ideas how this would go about with which they quickly diminished. I had planned on buying one, then wanted to make a bean bag chair ( I read a web site that it you go to your local post office they will give crushed Styrofoam to put in your chair for free.). I made a LARGE bag that could easily fit both of us and still have more room, but then I called in complete confidence that the post office that would fill my bag when, in fact they had no idea what I was talking about. Then I wanted to just buy bean bag filler, turns out it cost just as much to fill the stupid bag as it is to just buy one at love sac (discovered this after 6-8 trips to different stores across the valley). Then finally came up with a giant pillow idea that will have to do. I went to where else but the all time wonderful and right behind my house Wal-Mart to buy 10 lbs of stuffing. Came home to stuff my enormous bag, (had to alter it to only 1 person size) and was laughing hysterically to realize my "pillow chair" was starting to look like an overstuffed dog pillow. I also was to cheap and worn out being 8 months pregnant not wanting to go to the store again sewed the chair up in brown, red and white thread when the chair is a dark navy blue. Oh well, I knew he would love it any way.

Next was his TV. Nick has been complaining for the past year how he wants a '52 inch TV ever so badly. So having the little funds we do (having a baby girl will do that to you) I saved some cardboard for the box of the crib, painted it black, cut a square in bottom middle and wrote "SAMSUNG" on with buttons and speaks to side. After he went to bed on Friday night I lined up this ultra amazing flat screen (flat cardboard) TV over our current '32 inch TV.

When He woke up on Saturday morning with streamers and balloons every where we both had a loud a fun laugh over our new flat screen TV. (I even put a red curly bow on it) He LOVES his new chair. He sat in it it the whole day and now any time he can. Nicks birthday was so fun! We went out to lunch to this Chinese buffet and drove around the valley, looked at houses, got Slurpee's,had brown sugar salmon for dinner, and camped out in the living room with candy on the air mattress to watch a movie! I love you Nick, thanks for always being so fun!

Who's Smaller?

On March 13 my cute friend Casey threw and hosted my first baby shower and she did a fantastic job! She had adorable decorations, yummy food and fun games. Casey was a terrific hostess.

It was so wonderful to see everyone who came and to have their support and love meant a lot to Nick and I. To all of you who came thank you for generous gifts, your sweet love and of course your friendship.

We Sold my car

On Saturday we said good bye forever to my first car and reminisced in all the old memories we had when we were first dating (I had the nice car when we dating, so I drove most of the time). Well to back up a little bit, Nick and I had made this decision a while ago that after I quit my job and don't need my car for every day to day that we it would be a good idea to sell it. Well, I had my last day of work on March 4th and on March 6th we went down to Carmax and waited for an appraisal on the car, then took the offer. It was a good thing, we will save a lot in insurance and gas with just the one car, besides Nick's car is MUCH more safe and reliable than the Kia. As we were driving away and through the rest of the day we couldn't help but think of all the funny times we had in that car. For instance, I drove that car down to Zions with Nick with our singles ward and that's were we hit it off. Or how I meant to drive us to the great Salt Lake, but we ended up at the Bountiful Temple. And how could we forget the regular Jamba Juice runs after work and school. One of my favorites was before we were actually "officially" dating wee drove up to Logan and talked and talked and then on the way home Nick reached and held my hand for the first time and pulled away because I was driving and it happened so unexpected. (poor Nick) But of course I reached right back and we held hands the rest of the way down to Salt Lake. Last but certainly not least, Nick and I drove up to Washington right a little after we announced our engagement. We were on our way to see his dad and my brother. On the way home my engine exploded in Montana- the smallest little town to the side of the freeway of course. We still laugh about the experience we had trying to get home and the car back to a working state.

Well my 2002 Kia rio is gone and we are down to Nicks car. We are excited for this new chapter in liefs to begin and are willing to make sacrifices to make it work.

We have had such a fun valentines holiday this year. For Nick I did the 14 days of Valentine, where each day he gets a little surprise. He was so so cute and really appreciated each day's surprise. So to evenly surprise me, he had flowers delivered. Earlier this week he had asked me if I could stay home all day on Saturday and not go to other things I had planned on. That he just simply wanted to spend the entire day together. So Sat comes, I can't sleep well (as usual) so I get up around 7:30 start picking up when Nick gets up and we hear someone ring the door bell at 8:30! I was so irritated! Who is at our door on a Saturday at 8:30 in the morning?! I was thinking it some one from our ward. I ask Nick to get the door and says he can't, so I hurry and get dressed and open the door and no one is there, but there is a box on the ground. My first thought was more of Nicks books for work and almost yelled for him to come pick them up. As I looked down though I see it is for Jacey Green and I started thinking did someone know we were registered for the baby and send an early gift? I could not think what it was. I pick up the box and it says "PRO FLOWERS" Still I wasn't convinced. I open it and of course being pregnant I started crying, There was two dozen red roses with baby's breath in a red vase with a box of chocolate! It completely surprised me, I had no idea! He mainly wanted me home because he didn't know the delivery time and wanted to make sure I was there to answer the door. Later that day we got all dressed up and first drove up the canyon to see mountains covered in snow. Then we went to dinner at Lacaille and had a marvelous time. We did have few laughs about the restaurant but the service and food was amazing! We had fun walking around the grounds in the cold and taking pictures of all the birds walking around. So to my man way to go!!! I love you Nick, you are my everything and I am so grateful for the wonderful man, husband, and soon to be father you are! Happy Valentines!

I recently made a goal that I am trying to get finish the Personal Progress in the Young Women program done by September 30 this year to try and motivate my young women they can too. I told my mom and she is so wonderful to support and even do it with me. I had to go over to my parents house and show her how to use the new books and how personal progress is different from her day. She is the best, she is even going to teach my cute young women how to embroidery this summer!

If you can't tell from the picture...I colored all of my hair brown. Yes, I went from very blond to brown. I wanted to do something different, a little spunky and tried to think of ways we could cut back since I won't be working starting this March and I thought why not get all three! On Wednesday after work I ran to the store got some die and thought that is the first step, but had not officially decided if and when I would really do it. I talked about to some of my friends at work who some shared it wouldn't look the best on me. Oh well I don't care what others say, if I have it in my mind, it will most likely happen. So on Thursday afternoon I called my cute neighbor upstairs and asked for her up help. And there it is, we started coloring my hair in her kitchen. She is such life saver (I don't think it would have turned out so good with out her, thanks Jill!) I didn't even tell Nick that I was going to do it. He has always said how he wanted to see me with brown hair and how he would love it if I went brown. So when he walked through the door he stopped and stared for a moment then smiled and said WOW, something different. (he is funny) It was hit, he kept telling me all night how he loved the color brown better than blond and how pretty it and not to mention how much cheaper this will be on our bank account every 8-9 weeks. I am really pleased with how it turned out, so to all of you who said I wouldn't be as cute as a brunette as a blond, HA! I like my hair brown so just be happy for me. Have a wonderful day!

It has taken a while for this post but Nick and I had a wonderful holiday. We were really lucky this year, Nick and I both had work off 12 days each! We were really spoiled by staying up late and sleeping in late everyday. We were able to spend so much time with one another and with our families.

For presents Nick and I never try to surprise each other for Christmas, it's just to hard. We always go together on black Friday and buy everything with both of us there. So on Christmas morning we just laugh and laugh we are opening gifts that are labeled TO: and From: one another as we are trying to pretend we couldn't possibly guess what we are about to open. Also our gifts this year were very mutual in the sense they were for one of us but we both would benefit and enjoy them. So that being said, Nick got me a new cute, stylish and small digital camera. (we both wanted a new one that had better pictures and was faster with Zoey on the way) I got Nick 10 Blue Ray movies. (were not very active, our favorite thing to do after work is Eat. Sit on Couch. Watch the T.V.) The best was when we opened our mutual gift from each other....Rubber Maid Tupper Ware! We love it. As soon as we opened it Nick hurried and cleaned out our drawer and neatly placed our fun new gift. We had such a fun Christmas, both of our parents still spoiled us with love, food and a few gifts. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and know Nick and I love each of you and are grateful for all you all do for us.

Today Nick and I both had the day off and decided to go stroller shopping. We to a couple different stores and I have been looking online for deals. Every time I found something, there was always a way to make it a hassle or not a very good deal. Finally I found the one. I have been watching on KSL for travel systems and found this. This cute couple were selling the stroller and matching Graco Car seat in clean wonderful condition under $80.00!!!! Once I saw it in person and saw how good of a deal it really was, it was sold. When it made it home Nick and I were like two kids on Christmas morning. We were taking it for test drives down our halls and in and out of the different rooms. We love it. (can you tell by all the pictures I took) We love it so much and are so excited we are leaving it out in our front room so we can look at it all the time. Nick and I couldn't be more excited for our little Zoey to be on her way. She is going to look so cute zooming around town in this!

It's a Girl!

On November 20 at 7:15 am we went to the IHC hospital in Murray to have our gender ultrasound. With in 1-2 minutes of having the wand on my belly the tech said "oh, it's girl!" Little baby Green had to keep interrupting the measurements they were doing to show off herself off, over and over. We couldn't stop laughing, even on the screen she is super funny. Nick and I have decided to name her Zoey Green.

For our 2 year ann we went to Las Vegas! It was Nick's first time so there was a ton to see and do. We stayed at the Luxor, and walked up and down the strip to ALL the stores in ALL the hotels up to Ceasers Palace. For our special ann dinner we went to Emeril's! I love Emeril! It was so fun, Nick ordered caviar! ( I have to laugh at that, only because we thought it was so cool) After dinner we went to the MGM to see the show Cirque Sole, "KA" which was amazing! Nick and I were stunned with what those people could do. Over all we had a fantastic anniversary. Nick I love you and thank you for being such a perfect husband, literally perfect!

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would catch up. We have been doing a lot of out door activities. Nick and I went hiking in Big Cotton Wood Canyon where we got lost and found again, We went backpacking (1 night with out the proper gear in the cold rain) in the Unitas with some of Nicks work friends, then just went up to Maple Grove in Maple Grove to camp over night. Nick and I are just addicted to being outside and enjoying a good hike. I feel very blessed to live where the mountains and nature are so nearby and that Nick and I find joy and peace with our selfs and with each other in nature. I really think Utah is a beautiful place to live.

On Thursday night Nick, me and some friends drove down to ZIONS National Park. For Nick and I this is a tradition to go down. But we had some great company this year. Nicks Best friend Karl and his cute wife Maddie came with us camping and hiking. We had so much fun. We didn't want to leave! It is just amazing how beautiful it is in ZIONS. From the start we had a great time. Nick was really Lucky and found this campsite that is free outside of the park. It is about 30-45 min away from the parks gate, but still it was free and much bigger, cleaner, nicer and more secluded than the campsites in the park. We hiked Emerald Pools on Friday and The Narrows on Saturday. Nick and I have done Emerald Pools which is amazing but The Narrows is by far my favorite hike I have ever done. One thing I hate about hiking is the sun, that will always put me in a cranky mood if I have to climb a steep hill with the sun peering down on my neck. But I loved the idea of going into a cold river in the middle of a hot summer day and getting soaked . It was a blast hiking down the river against the water. At the beginning I was getting so excited and wanted to take lots of pictures. But then I pulled out Nicks camera so we could get a group picture of all four of us when we all hear a "SPLASH"! I wanted to think it was a lot of other things because I was still holding the camera, but when I looked at it the battery had dropped down into the mid-waist high river bottom. Poor Nick, every time we go on vacation I seem to forget something of his (or drop it in the deep muddy river). He is always so nice by just having a funny comment. This time though with the camera being the case I think he was sort of glad since I take lots of pictures already, he did get a short break. The rest of river hike was great. It was slippery, muddy and defiantly eye opening. The walls to the side and above you are so high and just covered with colors. When we were done with the hike we drove into St. George and went to the Pizza Factory for a nice meal after we were all exhausted.

Camping over the 4th of July

On the actual 4th Nick and I went on a small trail hike in the canyon where we encountered a large moose. I didn't even see it at first till it's huge furry self stopped on the trail about 15-20 feet in front of us and just starred at Nick. (Nick was trying to get a picture during all of this) The moose just stood there for a good 20 sec. That is a pretty long time when there is a moose in front of you! Later we went and saw Transformers and saw the fireworks at south town. What a nice holiday.

It's been a while since I last posted, but to catch up this is one of our latest activities. We went camping right before the 4th with my parents to Antelope Island. Nick and I love the Great Salt Lake, (for other reasons than the smell) but never thought it would be enjoyable to stay over night. But everyone ended up having a good time and really enjoyed the scenery. It was a bit of a bummer, when we went they said "NO FIRES" so luckily I have I wonderful mom who thought to bring her stove so we could cook dinner.

For memorial day weekend we went camping with my parents in Idaho. We sent up camp at this cute little camp ground (that we are defiantly going back to) then went to Lava Hot springs and finally came back to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. We had so much and can't wait to go back. On the way home we stopped at Johns and a few other family members graves. Then went to Katie and Jeremeys and they made us a wonderful dinner while Annie and Abbie were showing all their fun stuff! LOL! Thanks for the great dinner, we loved it!

My cute friend from work just had a beautiful petite little girl.( She is such an angel) Plus for just having a baby, she looks amazing!

I wanted to see my friend and bring her some dinner, when I came over I saw how cute of a mommy she has become. Angie is so cute with her little girl! Even though this is a really good thing, it was still really sad to move out of our first home together. This place was small and tight in every corner but we loved it. This was the best place for us to start out at!

With some of my birthday money I bought some food storage and assembled necessary items. This is a big deal for me, I literally bought this all at one time because we had nothing for an emergency! The most expensive of the whole caboodle was the white tub in the back. It has 200 adult servings with a 20 year shelf life! Defiantly worth the price.

Two cute girls I work with are both having babies about a month apart. They are both so cute and just glowing ready to be moms. I know they will both be amazing and absolute loving mommies! I wanted to give these two girls something hopefully special and something they didn't have another of. I had so fun fun making their gifts! any time I have an excuse to do a fun long craft I am excited!!! I was even more excited to give them their presents on Monday. They both were just so nice and said they loved their gifts. I was so happy. I am so very excited for both of them and their new adventure they are about to start! I love both of you girls so much, Congrats!

Skylie turned 5 on Friday! For her birthday Jennie and I planned the ultimate 5 yr old princess party. We had flowers and ladybugs with streamers and balloons for all the decorations. Best part is, Skylie has all little boy friends and one little girl friend. So you know perfect theme when it's mostly boys. LOL. Oh and of course the cake. I made Skylie a princess Barbie cake with purple and blue frosting. I love making those cakes! Happy birthday Skylie! I love you and hope you had a very, very happy, happy birthday!

In many ways it was a very wonderful experience because I felt all of the family really stand together and support one another during such a sad time.

On the way down Nick and had a BLAST riding with my brothers family. Their little girls are sooooo cute and entertaining! Nick and I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed seeing all of you!

Nick is 25! I had so much fun planning Nicks birthday. I got most of his presents a couple weeks in advance and decorated our living room so when he woke he would see our mini party. We had a big breakfast, and of course we went to the dentist on his birthday, doesn't every one do that (no cavities, YEAH!). Later on after opening his presents we went to the Desert Star Theater and saw a comic play. We both had such a wonderful time! Nick I love you and Happy Birthday!

We got home from our trip on Friday night, and had plans to have dinner and a movie on valentines...but of course that can always change. I got food poising on sat and was basically stuck at home. Nick was so cute, he got me a huge bottle of lemon lime soda and stuck by my side the whole gross and yucky time. What a true guy! So on presidents day we both had it off and after we got the house back together and did some errands we went to lunch at Red Lobster and saw a chick flick. It was so fun. I really do have an amazing husband, I love him so much. If have met him, you know that he is truly a caring and sweet person! Love you Babe!!!

Last week Nick and I went on a cruise with Nick's mom and brother. The trip was really amazing. I saw the many beautiful things and had such a wonderful time. It was really in every way a VACATION. We got nice and tan, but ate every thing in sight. It's funny what a girl does for this sort of thing, I worked out hard, I got my hair done, went tanning, even did some touch on whitening my teeth. Though while I was there all I could think about was how much fun Nick and I were having.

We went to the Bahamas and did so many exciting things. We did the sea-doo's around the ship on one island, while on another went snorkeling,kayaking and dolphin watching. They were both so much fun. I loved The sea-doo's, I have never done any thing like that. Though I did feel as though I was about to fall off every moment. Then the kayaking was so cool, there was sting ray every where in the water, and the snorkeling was just shocking. On top of having so many fish up close in cold water in the ocean, a shark swam under Nick and I. We loved that! Then, last we went dolphin watcthing. They were so playful! They were like dogs rolling around at the surface of the water. They were jumping and yet swimming so elegantly. I loved seeing them just swim in such a natural way.

Of course with the ship there was the food. I had worked out hard and decided I was not holding back! LOL, and I didn't! Nick I and both thought we had each gained 5 or so pounds from all the delicious meals and treats. But when we got home I only gained 1 and Nick only gained a couple. But what's funny is I got food poisoning the day after getting home and lost 4 pounds. We had a good laugh over that one. (food poising not from ship, from airport food*)

Our trip was amazing and I was so grateful to spend time with my wonderful mother-in-law and brother-in-law. They were so much fun. It was a great trip with so many memories.

My cute aunt Sarah had a beautiful baby boy named Jackson in November. Well the anderson family gave her a fun and cute shower. For the shower I made a "pregnant belly cake". I had so much fun making that ckae. I love the colors and the flavor! Sarah and her two little boys are so cute. I just adorded holding her little baby Jackson. He is so cute and cuddly.Every one did such a great a great job on the shower. Shanon let us use her beatuiful home and made the most delicious food, and Joy had the most creative and fun baby games to play. It was great having us all there. I loved seeing you all and I am so happy for you Sarah! Good Luck in Idaho!!!

Super Bowl CAKE

I am not a big fan of eating cake, but I sure love decorating them!

I had to look up online who was actually playing and what there colors were

For the big game I decided to make a super bowl football cake! I had so much fun with this cake. It was easy and fun to decorate. Plus, I even made little end post with cardboard and foil.

But besides the game, that sunday was great because all of us kids were there to give a very late, but thoughtful christmas gift. As siblings we all came together and made a book with some of my moms favorite recipes. It also had a message to both of our parents with pictures of all of us about and said how much we love them and how grateful we are for all the wonderful things they do for each one of us.

My best friend from high is leaving on her mission, so as a farwell gift I made her this Barbie doll missionary cake! I took a lot longer than I thought but it was my first, next time I want to try some brighter colors. When I walked into her house after the meeting all the girls kept saying that I am such a wife! LOL! (I hope so, I am married) But really it turned out to be a big hit, every one loved and especially most import was the missionary girl loved it! Good Luck Meryl, We are all so proud of you!!!!

For my moms gift, she had been asking for this for years! I draw these charecters that she and only she loves. In high school I drew her a family photo of all us. Happy Anniversary! Our actual wedding anniversary in on Nov. 2nd but since it was on a Sunday we decided to celebrate it the day before on Saturday. We had a blast. We went to the temple, dinner at the restaurant The Roof (best food EVER!) and were both sure we each gained 5 pounds for that one meal, we went to a movie at the Jordan commons theater and finally checked into a nice hotel that just opened in sandy! But wait that's not all, we did stuff on Sunday too. Nick was really sweet and drove me on the Alpine Loop. I have never been before. It was so beautiful, there was rain, snow and beauty of fall. Then of course we watched our wedding video following by eating the top layer of our wedding cake. Now we had the prettiest cake! and it still looked beautiful, but I was worried about the taste. Well... as you can it was not our favorite, but so cool to say we actually did such a funny tradition!

I woke up this morning with the beginning of a cold sore. Well I work with one other girl who gets them as well and had a few other antidotes up her sleeve other than mine. One of them is yes tooth paste! LOL!!! We work at a dental office and there of course is plenty, and luckily our clinic is closed this week for UEA. So we work with the bonus of minty freshness under our noses. LOL, priceless right?!
